2020 FAPA Award Winner - Cover Design - Adult: Bronze
The Siren of Good Intentions is a chronicle of exploration and emotional upheaval in the savannah and forests of West Africa. Victor, a former Peace Corps volunteer, is looking for meaning in his life through adventure. Doria, a once-again aspiring botanist, wants to explore the region in search of medicinal plants to heal the local children. Doria’s husband Nigel, a British executive, needs Victor in order to continue with a diamond-smuggling scheme. Amid the spark of a romance, the story blends a volatile mix of motives, manipulation, and magic catalyzed by well-meaning but dangerous people. Then, deep in the mountain forests of Guinea, a fierce eruption changes everything you thought you knew.
