2023 FAPA Award Winner

From turtles to tigers, butterflies to bees, there are so many animals all around us! This collection of poems about animals will give children a sense of how fun poetry can be. Each poem is accompanied by a coloring-book style illustration that children can color in themselves. The book includes pages for young readers to write their own poem and create their own illustration, making the book a unique collaboration between the reader, the authors, and the illustrator. Fifteen authors are included, each with their own animal connections: Marzieh A. Ali, J.G. Annino, Anonymous, Dean Flowerfield, Adrian Fogelin, Rachel Jacobsen, Debra Friedland Katz, Michelle Kogan, Irene Latham, Linda Mitchell, Ann Morrow, Buffy Silverman, Margaret Simon, M.R. Street, Nick Wynne. You might have read poems or stories by some of these authors, while others might be new to you. Which author and poem are your favorites?
