Calandra Powell
Calandra Powell is a quiet architect of hope, working where broken systems meet the fragile edge of possibility. Since 1997, she has devoted her life to restoring what others too quickly discard—guiding children toward confidence, and leading juveniles and adults beyond the cycles of addiction, crime, and self-doubt. Where society assigns labels, she sees untapped potential; where failure is expected, she cultivates resilience. Her work unfolds largely outside the spotlight, yet its impact is etched deeply into the lives she helps rebuild.
Grounded in both scholarship and service, Powell holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management with a concentration in Healthcare Leadership and a Master’s in Education Technology and Leadership from the University of Arizona Global Campus. She holds an Honorary Doctorate in Ministry from North Central. Her extensive certifications in addiction counseling, behavioral therapies, and resiliency advocacy reflect not only expertise, but a commitment to meeting people where they are—and walking with them toward transformation.
An author, counselor, educator, and entrepreneur, she is the founder of B.E.E. Education & Publishing, LLC., and has written across genres spanning children’s literature, financial literacy, health, African American History, and personal growth. Through music, art, storytelling, and instruction, she reaches those who might never respond to traditional methods, proving that healing often begins in unexpected forms.
Powell has been honored with several awards for memberships, service, and speaking from the Department of Corrections and community events in Florida. Her most recent award was in 2024 Excellence in Service Award from Gateway Community Services, Powell’s life’s work bridges justice and mercy, discipline, non-judgement, and grace. Beyond her professional roles, she is a wife of an amazing supportive spouse and mother of two wonderful professional career focused and inspiring adult children embodying in her own home the principles she imparts to others. In every space she enters, she leaves behind something enduring: not recognition, but restoration.
